Deeluxe History
Our company stems from a long shoemaker tradition which began just over 100 years ago in the Swiss city of Kreuzlingen. Louis Raichle's newly founded shoemaking company grew healthily, and eventually expanded into hiking shoes by the 1920s. In 1986 the first snowboard boots were hitting the stores, with softboots following in 1988. In the mid 90s Raichle was acquired by the Austrian firm Kneissl, which developed the brand Deeluxe for their line of snowboard boots.
By this time Deeluxe established itself as a strong, innovative brand with close ties to the riders – a tradition that was not lost when in 2002, the brand gained its independence from Kneissl.
The man behind Deeluxe is our CEO Klaus Brandstätter, who has been working in the snowboarding scene since the dawn of the sport. Brandstätter worked with some of the biggest brands before establishing Deeluxe as an independent company. His drive has helped steer the company into a worldwide leader in the industry, keeping us focused at what we do best: making high-quality, innovative snowboard boots.
