Here’s the rundown, from the man himself:
The basic guide line for the videos is “ what its like to really be a professional snowboarder “.. a how to in a sense . With everything from ; what it’s like to film and shoot photos , travel the world , enter contests , .. to, how I and others got their start , what sponsors are looking for , how you can increase your own chances of being a professional , aside from just being the best shredder in your little town.
There will also be a ton of snowboarding ..me and my friends ( most of who ride for you all ), giving it to the kids as it happens throughout the season.
Showing kids what its like to build a video part, the early mornings , the cloudy days , hours spent in airports , customs and line ups. Show them that its not all “ life of Ryan “ or Mr. White on the cover of Rollingstone. more or less I’m going to be documenting the entire season , talking to new pros Dan Brisse , Dustin Craven , up and coming ams like Scott Shaw and Phil Jacques , kids who’ve had the door opened for them and crumbled under the pressure. ill be talking to my team managers , to give kids an idea of what makes someone valuable to a team , what they are looking for , ill be talking to people like Andrew Hick and Jason Flynn who helped me get on pretty much every single company that I work with now . talking with people like ,Blue from capita , George from union who both made the transition from snowboarder to influential “industry guy”
Showing kids that its good to be diverse. to ensure that if they do make it as a pro that they aren’t suddenly stranded in the “real world” with no education and nothing other than being a pro “ cool guy” on their resume when they or someone else decides that “your snowboarding career is over”.
