Deeluxe Snowboard Boots

Dan Brisse

Why do you love/hate Snowboarding?

Love it because of the feeling it gives me, and hate it because one day far off in the future it will end as a career.

How do you keep your passion for Snowboarding alive after all these years? What keeps you coming back each season?

Progression is the main factor for keeping my passion alive, and it keeps me coming back.

Is filming/shooting a job or fun for you? Why?

Both. Sometimes it’s completely fun when things go well. Other times it’s tough depending on when and where we are and then it can feel more like a job.

Do you have a special workout or training during off-season? How does it keep your snowboarding skills in check?

I do a little off season training. Camp Of Champions in Whistler is perfect for that.

How do you deal with big slams? Any mental preparation?

Most snowboarders know that feeling when you are f%ked in the air, and then there is that moment where you do your best to take a beating.

Do you feel fear? How do you handle it?

Yeah, I get scared sometimes. I try to focus on the issue I am uncomfortable with and then focus on making it better in some way.

Do you have any ceremony/ritual before you enter a big jump or rail or drop something?

Ha, no.

Are you a blue bird shredder only or uphill in all weather conditions?

All weather conditions.

How do you close your boots? Tight, loose, open?

Tight.

Sharp or round edges?

This depends on what I am hitting. If it’s an urband feature my edges are pretty much round, but all other conditions they are pretty sharp.

Last word?

Life is short, have fun.
