Why do you love/hate Snowboarding?
I love it because of thousend reason. One of them is, because Snowboarding gives such a good feeling of freedom. One thing I hate about Snowboarding in the backcountry are averlanges.
How do you keep your passion for Snowboarding alive after all these years? What keeps you coming back each season?
Yes, that’s funny. All though I’m riding so much, each year I fall in love with this amacing sport and livestyle again and again. Best are ussually the shredding sessions with friends, without camera and judges. I sometimes even wonder myself how I can still be so stoked on it, even though I’m riding almost all year.
Is filming/shooting a job or fun for you? Why?
It’s both for me. It’s my job and fun at the same time. It feels good to have a aim and work for it. Especially in the end of the day its nice to looke back feel like you’ve reached something. Beside all the working aspect its also a great chance to represent snowboarding the way I see it.
Do you have a special workout or training during off-season? How does it keep your snowboarding skills in check?
I usually go surfing during summertimes. I guess that’s a good way to reclaim the body from all the landings during the season.
How do you deal with big slams? Any mental preparation?
Most importantly I listen to my feeling. It’s help to menage the risk involved in snowboarding.
Do you feel fear? How do you handle it?
Of corse I feel fear from time to time, but if I feel really unsecure or unsave then I don’t ride that face or jump that kicker or do that trick. It’s really important to feel confident with what you do. Confidenc is maybe the most important factor to land a trick.
Do you have any ceremony/ritual before you enter a big jump or rail or drop something?
No.
Are you a blue bird shredder only or uphill in all weather conditions?
I go riding in all different kind of weather conditions but of corse blue birt is usually the best. Sometimes it can also be great to shred the woods on foggy powder days…
How do you close your boots? Tight, loose, open?
Tight.
Sharp or round edges?
In betweeen.
Last word?
Lives all we got, value each moment !
