Why do you love/hate Snowboarding?

There is a healthy balance of both in me. The lists are too long, but as long as the love list is longer, I’m stoked.

How do you keep your passion for Snowboarding alive after all these years? What keeps you coming back each season?

Same things as before, getting new gear at the beginning of the season, doing the sticker job, wax the board, detune edges, ride ice on the opening day, get the first powder face shot of the season, see old buddies and talk about the summer and the plans for the winter, unrealized shot list from last season (or before that),… it’s a big puzzle of passion :)

Is filming/shooting a job or fun for you? Why?

Everything has it’s up and down sides. Snowboarding is still the most fun job I can think of for now. And for most of the time I don’t even think it is a job.

Do you have a special workout or training during off-season? How does it keep your snowboarding skills in check?

Nothing special. I do lots of mountain biking in the summer. Anything that keeps you fit. But it’s good to be on the board a lot for the skills.

How do you deal with big slams? Any mental preparation?

Depends how hard the slam is I guess, sometimes you touch your body and can’t believe you’re in one piece so you run back up and do it again. Sometimes thinking too much is not good.

Do you feel fear? How do you handle it?

Just trying to think about positive stuff, but stay rational. You don’t wanna handle every fear, sometimes your sense is telling you the right thing!

Do you have any ceremony/ritual before you enter a big jump or rail or drop something?

If I know it’s going to be a big day, I maybe choose my underwear carefully in the morning, otherwise nothing special. Just visualize the trick very good before committing into it.

Are you a blue bird shredder only or uphill in all weather conditions?

There is a different energy for sure when sun is out, but you can always have one of the best days ever in any conditions.

How do you close your boots? Tight, loose, open?

I ride them tight. Is anyone riding open?

Sharp or round edges?

Round in the middle, less round close to tail and nose.
